Human beings are complex systems and they exhibit different kinds of emotions depending on the circumstances. Anxiety being a common emotion that most of us experience often can go to great extent beyond our control that it starts affecting our normal life.

Haven’t you confronted anxiety issues when needed to show up for an exam or to give a presentation on a project that you are not sure about? It is very common to go through such situations and guess what even small babies are not pardoned from this strange feeling.

I remember when I had a miscarriage and consequently when I conceived again I had a constant fear hovering over my head until I delivered a healthy baby last year I was in kind of an apprehension that what would happen if things don’t work as planned or I would put in blatantly like this “I dint wanted a miscarriage to reappear “. Despite the fact that I knew nothing is in our hands but still I would tremble with fear and neglect to make the most of my present considering what’s to come. People around me used to find it difficult to adjust with my mood swings and they were totally fed up with the way I responded.

Seriously anxiety problems can cause exorbitant distress in a person’s life that it hinders ones vision to make sensible judgments. I am not alone who is besieged there are a majority out there who deal with anxiety issues in day to day life. Anxiety issues are faced by many and most of us fail to perceive these problems.

Having mild fear that usually lasts for a few days or hours doesn’t actually qualify as an anxiety problem but if it lasts for more than 5 months then you will need to consider discovering approaches to tackle this issue.

Here are a few symptoms that will help you to understand better

  • Constant fear or worry about the unknown

What contributes to anxiety problems?

Anxiety disorders are caused by many factors and they can range from mild to severe. The main reason why anxiety pops up is due to stress which tails us like a shadow all day. Anxiety is usually caused by external factors but at times we take up that job by thinking negative and turning the tables down for reasons unknown.

External factors include

So can yoga be the answer for this strange emotion that wrecks damage to a decent part of our lives?

If you want to feel at peace and get rid of anxiety issues then yoga can move your woes forever. Yoga is the best and the only cure that can repair your mind by filling up all the gaps that had actually instilled the panic in you. It is generally seen that people who have anxiety disorders have as a rule gone through traumas or had a tragic past. So such people need to heal from within to flush the fear out of them.

Our body reacts to stimuli in different ways and it is subject to change every second in the form of hormonal and chemical changes. The changes that occur within radiates outside affecting our life in a positive and negative way.
Most of the hormones that increase and decrease oddly can put forth pressure on our brain and our body by hindering the communication system. When the system is down it is not possible to coordinate and work in synchronization and that is the main reason why we tend to take wrong decisions while under stress. So if we practice yoga we can surely help to calm our mind and body to get rid of anxiety issues.

Four favorite restorative yoga poses to relieve stress,  I personally love to do and a great for beginners

Uttana Shishosana restorative yoga poses to relieve stress

This is otherwise called as extended puppy pose which helps the spine to stretch so that the nerve plexus gets invigorated. This is best for people who sit for long hours in the office and continuously go hand in hand with tension and stress.

Janu Sirsasana (Head-to-Knee Forward Bend) restorative yoga poses to relieve stress

Head to knee forward bend is the other name used for this pose and it is the perfect pose for any beginner to easy follow. It twists the spine and helps to curb anxiety problems, sleep issues and muscle strains.

Savasana restorative yoga poses to relieve stress

My favorite pose all called as Savasana is a 100% relaxation pose where you don’t have to do anything but just lie down on your back stretching your legs and hands. This pose is usually done after doing powerful yoga pose like surya namskar or sun salutation. But it can also be done alone by breathing in a rhythm to get rid of stress and anxiety.

Balasana (Child’s Pose) restorative yoga poses to relieve stress

Also called as Child’s Pose is a perfect pose to balance the whole body. It helps to give rest to the whole body and helps to get rid of tummy fat as an added bonus along with curbing anxiety problems and stress.
So these were a few yoga poses that love to do and I don’t want to go all scientific and boring but I would like to cite a few points more about yoga.

Yoga is a unique blend of art and science which elate our senses beyond their limits. The classic “OM” mantra recounted throughout yoga poses vibrates the nerves in full pace stretching and pulling them from their long slumber. The blood gushes through the veins and arteries like a river flowing after a heavy downpour taking away all the debris that had accumulated over time.

The rhythmic inhalation and the fresh scent of oxygen reach the tip and toe blending with the blood and finally nourish the expert of all actions “the super brain”.

Yoga is not just a bunch of poses but a culmination of various therapies like meditation, massages, healing and many more if to dig in deep. When your body moves its limbs and structures with fresh flow of oxygen your mind naturally calms down allowing the whole system to work for the better. Yoga postures can help to control the stress factors, bring neurotransmitter levels to normal and fill the gaps in your brain that has a negative impact on your whole body.

Conclusion: Yoga can be the supreme delicacy that you can offer your brain to keep it calm and composed so that you can let yourself free from all worries and past traumas. It is easy to grab a medicine and push it off your throat to treat your anxiety but would it really be long lasting solution? Think about it.
